** Wendy Boston History 1945-1976

Husband and wife team Ken and Wendy Boston
started their stuffed toy firm in South Wales
after WW 2
In 1948 they then moved to a larger premises at
Crickhowell and Abergavenny

Wendy Boston is famous for inventing the
safe, screw-locked plastic eye
Also in 1954 famous for inventing the
first washable teddy bear

Wendy Boston Playsafe Toys Ltd were
producing over a quarter of the UK's stuffed toy exports.

In 1968 they were taken over by Denys Fisher Toys

Factory Closed in 1976

This bear is more then 50 years old
It is common practice to define "antique",
as applying to objects at least 50 years old.
